What are the colleges in Manchester? Which ones are particularly worth paying attention to?

Below are two colleges in Manchester that offer notable courses for students: Middlesex University and Solent University – both of which belong to the QA Higher Education organization.

  • Middlesex University – one of its campuses are in Manchester. You can study fields related to management in health care (Business Management with Healthcare) and commercial accounting (Business Accounting). If needed, you can start your studies from the foundation year, the so-called year zero – an annual preparatory course for a given area of study.
  • Solent University – one of the branches of this university is located in Manchester. You can study business management there. Studies at the Solent University also begin with the foundation year, which means that you can improve your language capabilities and acquire the necessary skills needed to study this course.

Manchester also has well-equipped educational facilities, such as Central Library.

How to start studying in Manchester?

The application process in order to study in Manchester may not be too complicated, but it differs from that to Polish universities. You have to apply to all English universities through one system called UCAS, in which you need to set up an account and then complete the individual sections. The student can make up to 5 choices. In practice, this means that you have the opportunity to choose one field of study at five universities, five fields of study at one university or, for example, three fields of study at one university and two various fields on different universities at once.

During the recruitment process you will need the following documents:

  • secondary school certificate with exam results,
  • Personal Statement, or cover letter,
  • references, preferably from your teacher.

Before beginning your studies, you should also ensure adequate accommodation for yourself. Middlesex University cooperates with people who privately rent their apartments to students and supports them in finding suitable accommodation. If you study at Solent University, you should take care of accommodation yourself, for example by renting a room in a private apartment.
